The history of the Ramonet family’s wine production in the Chassagne-Montrachet area began towards the end of 1920 with Pierre Ramonet, a young man with high hopes, who began to buy the first patches of land in those places. If Pierre was simply good at buying the most suitable land, or if he was extremely skilled in the transformation of grapes into wine, we could not know for sure, but what we know is that, just ten years after the birth of Domaine, an American customer, Frank Schoonmaker, was so impressed by the level of the wines that he decided to start exporting large quantities (we are talking about three quarters of the entire production). Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Moenchberg 2016, Domaine Gresser
The story of the Gresser family began in Switzerland around the eleventh century and from there it moved, initially, to Gressoney, in Val d’Aosta and then back to Switzerland, in Wil, a village near Constance Lake. Being the city of Wil twinned with that of Andlau, it was easy for a descendant of this family, Eberhardt Gresser, to obtain, in 1399, the citizenship of Andlau, laying the foundations for a link between the Gressers and this country that remained unchanged over the centuries. Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Extra Brut Le Bout Du Clos, Jacques Selosse
The influence that the small Maison Jacques Selosse has exerted on Champagne producers is an incontrovertible fact that testifies to the importance of the 40 years of study and research by the charismatic Anselme Selosse. It all began around 1974 when the young Anselme, once finished his studies in oenology in Burgundy, entered in the Maison founded by his father Jacques 15 years earlier. Engelgarten Premier Cru 2016, Marcel Deiss
The history that binds the Deiss family to Alsace, more specifically to Bergheim, near Ribeauvillé, has its roots back in time, until the first half of 1600. Château Sociando-Mallet 2016
The history of Château Sociando-Mallet has its roots back in time, until the beginning of the seventeenth century, judging by the fact that it is possible to find official documents that attribute those lands to an aristocrat of Basque origin who was Sociondo’s surnamed. Over time Sociondo became Sossiondo and then Sociando, until 1831 when, after numerous changes of hands, the owner Marie-Elisabeth Alaret joined the name of the property to her grandfather one, the sea captain Achille Mallet, giving definitive origin to the Château Sociando-Mallet. Richebourg Grand Cru 2016, Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur
The history of the Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur has its roots in 1830 when their ancestor, Alphonse Gros, after his marriage to Julie Latour, partly bought, and partly inherited, the first vineyards in Vosne Romanée. Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts 2010, Emmanuel Rouget
Even in a strip of land so suited to the highest level wine production, such as the Côte-d’Or in Burgundy, there are few wineries that can boast the privilege of being closely linked to the timeless myths, as in the case of Rouget, whose homonymous owner, Emmanuel Rouoget, lived the vineyard side by side, from the age of 18, with his uncle Henri Jayer. For the few who did not know, when we talk about Jayer, we talk about a figure who literally revolutionized the way of making wine in those lands, to the point that it is not out of place to talk about a “before” and an “after” Henri Jayer. Château Giscours 2005
The undeniable charm that Bordeaux is able to arouse with enviable constancy, is one of the distinctive features that has allowed its wine trade to thrive over the centuries. This observation also applies to Château Giscours, a wine obtained from a landowner, in the area of Margaux, taken over by Pierre de l’Horme in 1552, and expanded progressively until 1571. Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil Sur-Oger Grand Cru Extra-Brut Champ d’Alouette 2004, Gonet-Médeville
The fact that the Maison Gonet-Médeville has just turned 20 years of age should not mislead us from the actual importance of this winery in Bisseuil, on the south-eastern side of the Montagne de Reims, in Champagne. The owner couple, Xavier Gonet and his wife Julie Médeville, are in fact the respective descendants of a famous family of Champagne winemakers (the Gonets) and a family with several properties in Bordeaux, including Château Gillette and Château Les justices (the Médevilles). Château Pontet-Canet 2015
As with almost all the more famous Château de Bordeaux, even for Pontet-Canet the story begins back in time, in the middle of the 18th century, when a French high magistrate, Jean-François de Pontet, buys some plots north of the village of Pauillac. To this original nucleus, in 1757, is added an entire property in the area of Canet, from whose name, associated with that of the owner, was officially born Château Pontet-Canet. Volnay 1er Cru Santenots du Milieu 2010, Domaine des Comtes Lafon

Pinot Gris Rotenberg 2017, Domaine Zind-Humbrecht
Talking about Alsatian viticulture without mentioning Zind-Humbrecht is a rather complicated speculative exercise, since it is the winery that, perhaps most of all, has contributed to the development of this region. The Domaine was born in 1959 from the union of the lands of the Humbrecht and the Zind families, two dynasties that for centuries cultivated the vine in Gueberschwihr (Humbrecht) and Wintzenheim (Zind), in Alsace, united by the marriage between Léonard Humbrecht and Geneviève Zind. Bourgogne Rouge 2016, Claude Dugat
Not many producers identify themselves with a specific production area as much as the Dugat family has done for about 70 years with the municipality of Gevrey-Chambertin. This small family domaine, in fact, continues to devote itself exclusively to its six hectares of vineyard (3 owned and 3 rented, but with full control over their management) despite the fame of wines creates a market demand far greater than the number of bottles produced.
