Sardinia
Mustazzo 2016, Sella e Mosca
In 1899 engineer Erminio Sella and lawyer Edgardo Mosca departed from Piedmont towards the land of Sardinia in order to reclaim a vast territory in the locality i Piani, near Alghero, in the province of Sassari, and transform it from pasture to vineyard. Since then those lands have made the history of Sardinian viticulture and, although the property has passed to the Campari Group (in 2002) and, later, to the Moretti family (since 2016), the search for quality has never failed. Essentija 2015, Pala
Viticulture is an activity known to the Sardinian population since about 5000 years, and the special relationship created on this island, over time, between man and wine is so deep that it can be compared only with that in the Caucasus region. Even if we wanted to consider only modern times, those who had the opportunity to visit Sardinia in the early ‘900 would have been struck by the impressive quantity of wine producers, even for family use only. VT 2017, Capichera
The history of the Capichera winery begins when the Ragnedda family inherited some lands in Tumbas de sos Mannos (Tomba dei Giganti = Giants Tombs), a prestigious archaeological site formed between 1800 and 1100 B.C. in Arzachena. We are in the 70s, in Gallura, about 20 kilometers from the sea of the northern coast of Sardinia, and those lands are destined to vineyards, and flanked by a cellar for wine production. Dettori Bianco 2019, Tenute Dettori
Talking about Alessandro Dettori and his wines is a very difficult task, as his figure has been gradually outlined with the characteristics of the timeless romantic myth. Actually Alessandro is light years away from this mythology, a bit naive, which unfortunately ends up neglecting its true strengths, such as the determination, a bit stubborn (so viscerally “Sardinian”), the great technical-agronomical background, and an enviable pragmatism. Villa di Chiesa 2016, Cantina Santadi
Santadi is a small town located in Sulcis, the extreme south-eastern part of Sardinia, about 15 kilometers from the sea, built in medieval times in a site rich in archaeological evidence dating back to the nuragic society. Here, on October 24, 1960, was officially founded the Cantina Santadi, a project born with the cooperative form, based on the vinification of the grapes of a small group of producers. Korem 2010, Argiolas

If today Sardinian wine is known and appreciated around the world, much of this success is attributed to the winery Argiolas from Serdiana, about 20 kilometers north of Cagliari. Its history could be started around 1920 when Antonio Argiolas’ father had begun to buy the first vineyards, but it will have to wait for Antonio and 1938 for the official winery founding act. Granazza 2015, Giuseppe Sedilesu

In the hinterland of that continent enclosed in an island that is Sardinia, in Barbagia, there is a small village of about 2500 inhabitants that enjoys 400 hectares of land (divided between 200 different families) in which the Cannonau grape has found the best possible habitat. In this area, in fact, the vineyards grow even at 1000 meters high, with an average altitude of over 700, and the vine, raised as a low sapling, has found a microclimate so favorable to be able to stay healthy for many years (a third of the plants has more than 50).
