Grosjean most representative wines come from two vineyards close to Quart (an Aosta sub-area): Rovettaz and Tzeriat. Tzeriat one was already known to the Lords of Quart castle who cultivated the vine already in medieval times.
This vineyard, located at 7/800 meters above sea level is surrounded by a natural mountain amphitheater that protects it from winds and rain. The Grosjean family planted it initially in the ’60s, and then, in recent times, proceed to replanting with its best selection of Pinot Noir graft nurseries.
The grapes, grown with biological approach, after being carefully hand-picked, are sent to the cellar where they are soft-pressed and, after the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, they refine in barriques of third and fourth passage.
This ruby red tending to garnet 2018 vintage, transparent and brilliant, smells of crunchy red fruit, with crispy cherry in the first row, touches of raspberry jam and blueberry, rose petal and hints of powder. In the mouth the fruit returns with young tobacco in an entrance of good sour and beautiful taste, the medium palate develops on the olfactory tones and the closing is on fruit and evident acidity.
