According to the South Tyrolean chronicles Grosjean’s maternal ancestors, as early as the 18th century, were used to go to the village of Ollignan to supply wine. Over the years, Ollignan has carved out a special place for itself in the heart of the Grosjean family, who built there his winery in 1968. In that same year Grandfather Dauphin produced his wine there in order to present it for the first time at the “II Exposition des Vins du Val d’Aoste”. Since then the family has dedicated its forces to the production of wine (certified organic since 2011) and increased the owned land, now lying on 12 hectares splitted in 8 different vineyards.
This Premetta 2019 comes from the south facing 800 meter altitude Senin vineyard (0,5 hectares), lying in the Saint Christophe sub-area, nearby Aosta. This wine, made from 90% Premetta and 10% Cornalin and sourced from the highest vineyards of the domaine, is shortly aged in steel tanks before being bottled, in order to obtain a wine of great immediacy, simple and very easy to drink.
This intense Rosè Carasuolo colored 2019 vintage smells of red fresh fruit with cherry Ravenna, pomegranate, blood orange, floral hints of thea rose and a great vinosity. The mouthfeel is fresh and fruity, not very tannic and easy to drink, also thanks to a low alcoholic content and a finish of ripe peach skin and pomegranate.
