The history of this winery is very recent: we are in 2001 and the Rosset family decides to begin its journey on the land owned (3 hectares) in Senin of Saint-Christophe. It is only in recent years, however, with the acquisition of land in Chambave and Villeneuve (over 900 meters above sea level) that this Sopraquota 900 originates. Coming from a 30-year-old vineyard this Petit Arvine Cru is born on a terrain with a slope of over 50%, on a soil with a high density of planting (11,000 vines per hq) that requires a manual, carefull, harvest.
After a cold prefermentative pellicular maceration, the extracted must faces in the wood the malolactic fermentation followed by the aging in part in amphora, in part in jar, in part in wood and in part in steel. The blending of these parcels and a short aging in bottle give birth to this wine, of straw yellow color.
This 2018 vintage smells of cedar, grapefruit, plum, mango, fresh cut grass, mountain thyme, mint, yarrow and pine buds. The palate is played in a swing of soft sensations alternated with citrine ones, with the latter taking over in closing, cleaning the mouth and preparing it for a further sip.
