To determine the origins of the Maison Dourthe it is necessary to go back to 1840, when a hotelier from Lit-et-Mixe, a charming coastal town halfway between the city of Bordeaux and the border with Spain, moved there to engage in a new wine business; that man was Pierre Dourthe.
